It’s a trip to the ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg, Belarus for the Scots this evening after a well-deserved draw against Denmark on Friday.

The Belarusians fell to a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Greek on Friday evening also but will be determined to give a good display for their faithful fans.

On paper, it would be fair to say that Denmark is the strongest side in the World Cup qualifying group C. So, to come away from Copenhagen with a 0-0 stalemate is looked upon as a positive start in the eyes of the Tartan Army.

Scotland will be looking to have another outstanding defensive display against Belarus as they did against Denmark, as this could be a tricky fixture.

In terms of the attacking side for Scotland, fans will be calling for young Hibs striker Kieron Bowie to get a chance, after an impressive start to the season. This follows a long goal-drought from Lyndon Dykes with his last competitive goal for his country coming in 2023.

This is a game in which Scotland could be more free-flowing, players can show their creative flair. A significant part of this includes Ben Gannon-Doak being in the starting line-up.

For years, Scotland teams have lacked the attacking abilities players like Doak possess. It would be refreshing for fans to see him show his stuff after a £25 million move from Liverpool to Bournemouth in the summer.

The World Cup qualifiers are in the early stages, but the people of Scotland will have hopes and dreams of seeing the national team jet-off to North America next year. This would be an outstanding achievement for Steve Clarkes side, Scotland's last appearance at the tournament came in France 98’. A good result against Belarus would send Scotland in the right direction to do so.
