Rising star bags hat-trick for The Pars

19-year-old striker Andrew Tod was the mastermind for Dunfermline at the weekend. The team won 5-0 at Gayfield when they came up against Arbroath. Manager Neil Lennon described it as one of their most “complete performances” in his time at the club.

It was an extremely one-sided game as the scoreline would suggest, but you cannot take anything away from youngster Andrew Tod as he stole the show and gave the away support a good showing. He drilled home two well taken goals in the first half. Tod grabbed his hat-trick just before the hour mark before later adding with an assist to please the supporters, 3 points taken back to Starks Park will be pleasing for the fans.
Neil Lennon has been singing the praises of Tod after his clinical performance against the Litchties. When speaking to the media after the game, he said: “I’m delighted for him, we know what we’ve got with Andy, and he is a very talented player.” He continued by saying: "He’s very high IQ football-wise. He is a smart footballer, and you could see all that today.”

A situation that doesn't happen all that often, Andrew is joined by his big brother John at the club which will be a helping hand in terms of keeping him on the right track. With a solid start so far to this season, Tod will be looking to help his team-mates push for promotion to the Premiership.
